My Baby, well not really :/

My baby girl is getting "old'! Haha! Well, she will be 3 this summer!
She decided that no crib could hold her (she was way too young when she started climbing out), so we made the crib into a toddler bed and started planning what to do for her "big girl bed".
My first thought for her bed was a pretty 4 post bed, when I got on pinterest I found "house beds" that I loved. So I showed my husband a picture and he got to work!
I absolutely love that he can build pretty much anything I want! I did a paint wash on it - 50% paint and 50% water - there was not as much wood grain showing as I was hoping, so I quickly grabbed a rag and wiped it off as I painted. I love how it turned out. I added the lantern lights on the bed for a night light, they were one of those random finds in the Target dollar section, although, they were $3 and I bought 2.

I love all colors and bright pops of colors are the best! So I painted the her room really dark (Intellectual by Behr) that way the bright colors would stand out against the dark walls. Her wall hanging (I found that at At Home), her drapes (I got from Target) and her hanging flags (I made them) are all bright and beautiful by themselves but are so fun together!
A child's room should be fun, right?
We have one "blank" wall under the flags, but I want a dresser there & just haven't found "the one" yet, so this is how it will be for now!

The shelf and hooks were a gift from our old neighbor, I painted it a hot bubble gum pink, with her blessing. The dolls on top are ones I got when I was a kid, from Bangladesh.

My work in progress side. I'm glad that she doesn't care as long as her babies have a spot!

I love this curtain rod, I found this at Home Goods.

The "tie backs" for the curtains are reproduction vintage door knobs from Hobby Lobby.

These flags were so easy to make, I just sewed a triangle, right sides together leaving the "top" unsewn, then pulled it right side out and finished with 1" double fold bias tape, leaving a gap to get string pulled thru.
She is a lucky girl with a double closet and I made the bottom half of the second closet a dress up spot. She is a girly-girl - she loves shoes, shopping and tu-tus. I painted this mirror (from Ikea) and hung it in the closet. I put a bin (from the Dollar Store, score!) to hold her shoes and non-hangable dress up stuff. I had the butterflies from a home I staged and decided that they NEEDED to be in her dress up area! :)

I think this room turned out perfectly "Myla"!
I hope that you like it! Do you need help making a room perfectly you? Give me a call today!
Thanks for checking it out!
